Palm Frond Mask: DIrty Old Man

Why anyone would want such a mask is beyond me, but here it is.  I tend to commit to whatever face I see in the natural shape of the frond, so I just went with this design.  I don't make any excuses for my work, other than that one.

First Caricatures of the Season

First Caricatures of the Season, down on Main Beach, Laguna Beach.  Come see me any weekend when the weather is nice, by the historic lifeguard tower.  I will draw you for free, and you keep the drawing.  Tips are grudgingly accepted.

A beautiful sunset.

Pam Frond Masks: Wood Spirits

Often, when making a palm frond mask, I look for the face that is suggested by the natural curve of the wood, rather than imposing a character or design upon the frond, from out of my own head. The entity or spirit is already there in the wood; I just bring it out with the paint and, in this case, marker.

Kabuki-Style Palm Frond Mask, at the Drum Circle

I made a new palm frond mask.  This one is attached to a hat so I can wear it hands-free, although I have yet to drill a few eyeholes.  In Japanese Kabuki style, but with no particular character being referenced.

Anyone can pick up young girls, with just a shaman outfit and a palm frond mask! Try it!

Hangin' with my homies at the drum cizzircle!
